New Video Alert - Cassie - King Of Hearts

Me & U is the best known song from 25 year old R&B singer Cassie who has had limited success with her other singles, however with this unique new track she's hoping to make more of an impact. An interesting video game type backing music gives this track real depth, and Cassie's smooth vocals finish it off well. The video is very sexy too with Cassie showing off her.. um... assets in a taped outfit a la Cher in If I Could Turn Back Time! Check out the latest from CassieKing Of Hearts here now..!

New Single Alert - Kat DeLuna - Give Me Your Love

With Madonna's new single Give Me All Your Loving being one of the biggest tracks out right now, it's probably not a good idea to release a single with a similar name - but that hasn't phased Kat DeLuna! A SCP One To Watch back in September last year we've kept a close eye on Kat and are quite excited to tell you about her new single Give Me Your Love. A simple yet effective dance song the track plays on Kat's power vocals and electronic style with a slightly Rihanna esque vibe. A great track that should be pumping out of the clubs very soon..

Queen & Adam Lambert to perform at Knebworth Park..!

When Freddie Mercury performed in 1986 for Queen’s final known concert at Knebworth Park he said “Earlier on there were rumours of us splitting up, but I mean – f*** ‘em – how can you split up when you have an audience like this.”
Now a quarter of a century have since passed and rock legends Queen are to return to play a second concert at the venue that provided them with the setting for one of their biggest and most historic concerts. Queen’ Brian May and Roger Taylor today confirmed the band will headline the second day of this year’s Sonisphere Festival  appearing  at the festival home ground  Knebworth Park, Stevenage, on Saturday July 7.
However they have a very interesting support act, when May and Taylor confirmed that for this special one-off concert –the band’s only UK concert appearance in 2012 – they will be joined by US singer-songwriter Adam Lambert.

The biggest Rock Band and American Idol winner first encountered each other during American Idol Season 8 in May 2009 where Lambert joined the band to perform We Are the Champions and have always hinted at a future collaboration, most recently with Taylor telling Billboard Magazine “"He (Adam)has grown into a really great performer with an astonishing voice with a range that's great. We would like to work with him again. There's nothing signed just yet but …it could be very exciting."

The Sonisphere 2012 Knebworth stage will at last provide an eager public the opportunity to see May, Taylor and Lambert delve deeper into exploring their very evident  artistic appreciation of one another. Brian May said  “Judging by my incoming mail, this decision will make a lot of people very happy.  It's a worthy challenge for us, and I'm sure Adam would meet with Freddie's approval! And what better place to revisit, and walk those emotional paths than Knebworth ?  It will be a rush.”

Lambert adds:  “I'm completely in awe of the Queen phenomenon. The thought of sharing the stage for a full set is so beautifully surreal. I'm honoured to be able to pay my respects to Freddie's memory. He's a personal hero of mine and I am deeply grateful for the chance to sing such powerful music for fans of this legendary band. I know the evening will be a huge milestone for me, and with the support of Brian, Roger and the rest of the band I know magic will be on display.”
Queen’s last performance at Knebworth Park, was with the great Freddie Mecury some twenty-six years ago ,  on the band’s monstrously successful Magic Tour which had spread out across Europe over eight weeks of that summer.  Over a million people had already paid to see them.

On what will undoubtedly rate as one of this summer’s most highly anticipated and emotionally charged concerts Queen’s Roger Taylor says: "I remember Knebworth as being the most incredible gig, with the most amazing audience and the sound on stage was utterly perfect. It was a fitting last stand before a live audience for Freddie. It will be a real challenge to complete the circle by returning with Adam."
We can’t wait..!

Pop - LIVE! - Whitney Houston (A Tribute)

As Whitney Houston was laid to rest over the weekend, we at SCP wish to remember the singer for her talent, not the inner demons that surrounded her for the last decade. Whitney was a diva, recording artist, actress, producer, and model and one of the world's best-selling music artists, releasing seven studio albums and three movie soundtrack albums, having sold over 170 million albums, singles and videos worldwide, Whitney was a superstar with a capital STAR..!
So at SCP HQ we want to remember the icon as we bring you some of the best live performances from her 35 year career.
Born in Newark, New Jersey Whitney Elizabeth Houston was second child of gospel singer Cissy Houston and entertainment executive John Russell Houston, Jr. at age 11 the talent was beginning to show, as Whitney performed as a solo artist in her local choir singing Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah. Throughout her school days her dedicated mother taught her to sing, being surrounded by other music icons like her godmother Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warwick, Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight, and Roberta Flack, who inspired the young Whitney on to become the singer she became.

Her first taste true of the music world, was when she toured with her mother, sometimes getting up on stage to perform, which lead to providing backing vocals on a number of hits including Chaka Khan hit single I’m Every Woman. It was in 1983 that Whitney got her main break, performing in front of music mogul Clive Davis who was impressed the singer he offered a worldwide recording contract and it was all systems go..!

Her debut track onto the world stage was the soulful ballad You Give Good Love which peaked at number 3  in the Billboard Hot 100 and No.1 on the R&B Chart which sparked a sore in popularity, with Whitney’s self titled debut album selling 13 millions copies worldwide and with that, a star was born.
The same album then started to knock out hit after hit, with jazz ballad Saving All My Love for You, How Will I Know and Greatest Love of All which have all become Whitney classics in everyone’s pop collection, with the latter reaching No.1 and remaining there for three weeks. However this album and the videos that accompanied the hits became more important moment in Whitney’s career, as she was the first African-American female artist to receive consistent heavy rotation on MTV.

The second album, Whitney, cemented the singer on the international stage and became the first album by a female artist to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 albums charts.
With all of the first four singles released of the album — I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me), Didn't We Almost Have It All, So Emotional and Where Do Broken Hearts Go all peaking at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and winning a plethora of awards including a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female for I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)

Following yet another No.1 album I'm Your Baby Tonight it was then when Whitney was requested to audition for the lead female role opposite Kevin Costner in The Bodyguard. In Costner eulogy at the singer’s funeral, he said “‘A lot of men could have played that [bodyguard] role. But you Whitney were the only person who could have played Rachel Marron”

The film's original soundtrack won the 1994 Grammy Award for Album of the Year. Its lead single I Will Always Love You, became the best-selling single by a female artist in music history.
From there, Whitney continued to star in movies and providing the soundtrack to Waiting to Exhale and The Preacher's Wife with the latter becoming the best-selling gospel album in history.

The fourth studio album My Love Is Your Love came in 1998, which was full of mid-tempo R&B, hip hop, ballads, urban-dance, reggae hits, showed an edgier more mature voice, singing about marital blues and scars obviously received through her troubled marriage. Check out Whitney performing It's Not Right But Its Okay live at The Brit Awards in 1999

Three further albums were released including a Christmas special One Wish: The Holiday Album and her 2009 comeback album I Look To You which included the brilliant Million Dollar Bill which was written by Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys and remixed by The Freemasons and was our Friday song last week.

However it was early Whitney that really made her an international star and that we will remember her fondly for, the brilliant hits she has given us, with hours of dancing round the SCP HQ office. Whitney you were a legend and boy, could you sing! It wouldn’t be right not to end our tribute with the biggest selling Whitney track of all time, I Will Always Love You.

Whitney, its was such tragic news to hear of your passing and we are devastated by the loss to the music world. You were beautiful and a talent beyond belief, your songs will live on forever and you will always be remembered as the one of the greatest singer of our time..!
