Sam Smith enters Billboard Charts at No.2..!

We knew Sam Smith was special when we first heard him waaaaaaaaaaaay back in early 2013 with his beautiful raw vocals and now the US are loving him too...

Sam Smith has made U.S. pop music history with his debut album, In The Lonely Hour, selling more copies in its first week of release – 166,000 – than any other debut album by a UK male artist in the last 23-year history.

The album will enter the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart next week at #2, propelled by the artist’s top-ten hit single, Stay With Me, which has just surpassed sales of one million copies this week in the US alone.

The record-setting first-week sales figure for Smith’s U.S. debut reflects Sam’s burgeoning popularity in the US.  A forthcoming North American tour in September has completely sold out including The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York and the Riviera Theater in Chicago.  This precedes Sam’s homecoming UK tour, also sold out.

Critics have lauded Smith and his music with huge accolades coming from us (we loved him first!) TIME Magazine, Associated Press and The New York Times including the UK The Observer, i-D and Sunday Times Culture naming him ‘the voice of 2014’. We are sure they just read our One To Watch article..!

Sam Smith will be heading down under next month for Splendour In The Grass and is also playing Glastonbury and headlines Somerset House in the UK.
Congrats Sam, we knew from the start you'd be a star. In The Lonely Hour is out now on iTunes..!
