Pete's Pop Picks..!

After a nice long break Pete's back and he's got some amazing new tracks to introduce you to! Pete's Pop Picks are back for 2014 to introduce you to some new music you may not have heard of anywhere else. Take it away Pete...

Emma Stevens - Riptide
In Australia, radio station Triple J's Hottest 100 is a pretty big deal - it's effect even reaches around the world as the number one song, Riptide then started charting across the globe. The Riptide we're talking about here though is not the number one track from Vance Joy, it's from Surrey based folk/pop singer Emma Stevens

Coming across this song on some of my random web wanderings, Riptide has now become one of my favourite songs so far in 2014, with it's upbeat infectious positivity really ticking my boxes. Emma Stevens has music in her blood, playing guitar since the age of three before learning cello and piano. Her life has been dedicated to music and with a song like Riptide it looks like she's really chosen the right path.

You'll love Riptide, Pete's Pop Pick for February 2014..!

Elyar Fox - Do It All Over Again
England makes it two in a row for Pete's Pop Picks this month with almost-too-cute Elyar Fox's debut single Do It All Over Again! Born and bred in London, Elyar was barely school age when he used his pocket money to buy the first albums he ever owned - Nirvana’s ‘In Utero’ and ‘The Young & Hopeless’ by Good Charlotte. “I also loved Avril Lavigne and Eminem,” he says. Now he's releasing his own music.. and it's good. Do It All Over Again is a great pop track that if released by One Direction would be a worldwide smash hit. Elyar is using this track to launch himself in competition to 1D and with his almost Niall looks he's got a good chance of taking them on! Have a listen to Elyar Fox here now..!

Glenn Morrison - Goodbye
Canada takes out the third place in Pete's Pop Picks this month with the brilliant song Goodbye from Glenn Morrison. Whilst his track has more of an Adult Contemporary feel to it, Glenn is actually a very successful DJ & Producer who has worked with the likes of Armin Van Buurin & David Guetta. Hailing from Toronto he has a love of House music but he's even worked on soundtracks to Nintendo games! You'd never guess though that Goodbye is a track from a world-class DJ - it's testament to how successful a musician he is to be able to create a song like this that has a great beat and a hauntingly beautiful nature to it! Have a listen here to Goodbye.. we think you'll be hearing more from Glenn Morrison..!
