SnapCacklePop Music Awards 2013 - POP Album Of The Year

It’s the big one! The album of the year is the defining album for the whole of 2013. There were some big pop releases this year from Selena Gomez, Britney Spears, Icona Pop and Little Boots, however will Beyoncé' last minute slap across the music industries face with her self titled album win another SCP Award? Or will the boys come through like Daft Punk, One Direction or will Justin Timberlake's two albums pick up the main prize. And the nominations are...

Runner Up
Daft Punk - Random Access Memories
From the moment we heard the style of Get Lucky from the French DJ duo Daft Punk, we knew we’d love their new album Random Access Memories. Saluting the musical era of disco, it contained some damm funky beats, guitar rifts, hand claps and a bit of progressive rock, in an album full of ambient, jazz, house disco pop.

The album brought a breathe of freshness back to the charts, challenging the over produced, auto tuned to death EDM tracks to maybe think differently, or perhaps the two French robots wanted to bring a human touch back to music, in what is their most personal album to date.

In today’s modern pop world, artist’ are releasing a few strong singles to sell an album, however Daft Punk have managed to deliver an album of pop disco, soft rock funky sun drenched gems that are strong enough to stand on their own merit, or collectively, deliver one of Daft Punk’s strongest album’s to date.

She did it! Two weeks before the end of year, Beyoncé dropped THE album of the year. For all the reasons we have listed in why Beyoncé is the Queen of Pop 2013, the album on its own is phenomenal. Why? We’ll tell you why..!

It’s inspirational, touching, personal, moving, challenging, progressive, fresh, urban, pop, hip-hop, soul, funky, emotional, confident, reflective, liberating and above all honest!

Then add the 17 videos that show insight, passion, sexiness, meaning, more emotion than you can throw a stick at, and personal insight in Queen Bey's life with Jay-Z and Blue Ivy -  ladies and gentlemen there you have a pop star who is creative!

Beyoncé – you are not only our Queen of Pop this year, you took the double and won the Pop Album of The Year..!
