SnapCacklePop Music Awards - One To Watch 2014..!

Well we hate to say "we told you so" however our last years winner of One To Watch 2013 was Matt Corby who recently went on to win Song Of The Year in the Australian ARIA awards for his track Resolution. *Insert smug look here* However, question is, will we be able to predict the next big pop star of 2014? And the nominations are...

One To Watch in 2014 Award

Say Lou Lou

Max & Bianca
Sam Smith
Samantha Jade
Dami Im
Bonnie Anderson

The shortlist...
Honorary mention must go to Bonnie Anderson. After seeing her on tour with Olly Murs this year, with that amazing voice, we can only be excited for what this lass could bring in 2014. Her single Raise The Bar was a great summer debut in 2013, so lets hope we see more of this great pop next year. REad our interview with Bonnie here..!

Runner Up
Max & Bianca

We only recently got introduced to this pop duet hitting the Australia charts, with their unique style of pop in their debut single Love Drunk.
It’s a brilliantly catchy track, full of synth beats, fun lyrics and charging chorus, in what we call at SCP HQ “Pop with balls”, therefore you can understand why we are super excited by what this pop duo could achieve in 2014. Read our interview with them here..!

And the winner is...
Sam Smith

Regular readers of SCP HQ will know why Sam Smith has won our One To Watch 2014 award, as we have been harping on about him for the last year due to being super bloody talented.

Everything he had touched this year has been amazing. From providing vocals on Naughty Boy’s fantastic single La La La or on Disclosure single Latch, to his own singles Lay Me Down and Safe With Me that showcase the singers amazing full-bodied raw vocals. And lets not forget his debut Nirvana EP that has gained him further popularity and much excitement over his debut album.

Then to further add to the stupid amount of reasons why he deserves this award, is that he recently won the UK Brits Choice Award 2014, joining the likes of Emeli Sande, Tom Odell & Adele – and we all know how their careers are shaping up!

So ladies and gentlemen, please get ready for the amazing Sam Smith, who will be releasing his debut single Money On My Mind in the new year, followed by his debut album In The Lonely Hour due out in May.

Congratulations Sam, we've been a fan since the beginning and can't wait for your debut album..!
