Roar - Katy Perry
Acapella - Karmin

Runner Up
One DirectionStory Of My Life
We must admit, we have become bigger One Direction fans this year than we ever thought we would be! Even one of our SCP writers now has a 1D screensaver on his laptop, however we won’t go there! Setting aside their continued world domination, millions of screaming fans, a movie, new album and 10 month world tour, it was there video for Story Of My Life that tugged on our heartstrings and is a beautiful reflection of the boys journey so far.

Directed by Ben Wilson, the cinematography rivals the quality of any music video out there, as we get to see the 1D boys growing up through a series of pictures including their grandparents, siblings and parents. It’s even more touching as the boys families feature in the clip themselves which makes it even even more adorable.

And the winner is...
Macklemore & Ryan LewisCan't Hold Us
Ok, Ok, OK!! We know this decision may not go down well with all pop fans as some may argue that Miley Cryus' Wrecking Ball video was the most shocking and massive video this year, Britney Spears' Work Bitch was fun and even Justin Timberlake's Mirrors was beautifully directed. However you need to just watch the clip by  Macklemore & Ryan Lewis to understand why it has won video of the year.

Shot over 2 continents and 16 different shoots, ranging from the Pacific Northwest to Southern California to New Zealand, the video was directed by Ryan Lewis, Jason Koenig & Jon Jon Augustavo over 3 months and even parts of the clip that were filmed on the tall ship Lady Washington for crying out loud. It’s a mini-movie in itself !

And lets not forget the track itself, an amazing upbeat hip-hop pop track featuring guest vocals from Ray Dalton which done brilliantly this year, becoming their third consecutive number one single in Australia and is taken from Macklemore and Lewis 2012 collaboration album The Heist.

Video of the Year 2013 goes to
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis..!
