Our thoughts on the new American Idol judging panel..!

After the, dare we say it, "car crash" of a series twelve of the original talent show America Idol, a new series is kicking off with some new, old and returning judges, however is it a winning formula? SCP reckons it is...

Let us break it down...

Keith Urban, former Australian The Voice judge and newbie AI judge last year, basically out shined all last years judges with his honest yet supportive feedback. Even though he did walk off the set, who wouldn't, when you have Nicki Minaj & Mariah Carey with their claws out at each other and being in the middle.

Urban is also a multi-Grammy-winning writer/artist who is set to release his eighth studio record Fuse this week, so definitely has some credit to his name.

Then their is new judge Harry Connick, Jr. who is an around entertainer with having three Grammy Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards and a multiple-Tony Award nominations under his belt, he certainly is bringing experience to the show.

Many people would not know, that HC Jr has actually release 29 albums over the course of his career with his smooth groove vocals against his stunning piano technique and vivid musical imagination.

Speaking of his appointment of being a judge after being a mentor last season the singer said “And I am honored that they've asked me to be a judge this season. As an entertainer, I am truly excited to bring my perspective to AMERICAN IDOL®, and to help emerging performers find their way.”

Then there is returning judge Jennifer Lopez. We were sad when she left after season 11 as we thought she brought sunshine and light to the show and loved her chemistry with Steve Tyler. Well that sexy lady from the block is back and we couldn't be happier. Why? Let us tell you...

Not only is she an actress, entertainer, film and TV producer, fashion designer, entrepreneur, humanitarian and pop artist selling over 75 million records worldwide, Jennifer Lopez IS one of most powerful and celebrated celebrities in entertainment. Even Forbes Magazine named her the No. 1 Most Powerful Celebrity in the World in 2012!

And the thing we love most about her, is her down to earth easiness with the contestants. You believe she is 100% behind each of them, supporting them to be their best and even making sure they stay grounded to who they are as an artist. The return of J.Lo is just clever planning by American Idol big wigs, as she is a massive rating pull, yet we are sure they had to pay bug bucks for the super popstar to return. Money well spent if you ask us. And we are sure she would never throw glitter over a contestant..!

The judges are gold in our opinion. And its great to see Jimmy Lovine being replaced as in-house mentor by former judge, Randy Jackson.

Lets just hope they find a great group of potential idols to rock the thirteenth season. Check out the new judges discussing this new line up..!
