These days the lines between Trance, Dance and Pop have become a bit blurred. Former Dance/Trance artists like David Guetta and Calvin Harris have found massive success on the charts with pop targeted tracks like When love Takes Over and Let’s Go. Featured vocalists like Kelly Rowland, Ne-Yo, Ellie Goulding and Rihanna add additional Pop cred and mainstream acceptance of their music as well. It seems like this is now a new era of Pop/Dance music and we welcome a lot more new Dance artists to the mainstream Pop arena – here’s 3 of the best new Pop/Dance crossovers for you here now..!
Dutch Trance producer and DJ Armin Van Buurin has been pumping out the beats since 1995 and is loved in clubs world-wide. However it’s the 36 year old’s latest work that has brought the largest crossover of his career. This Is What It Feels Like is one brilliant track that is loved by commercial radio around the world. Still familiar as an Armin Van Buurin track with the almost hypnotic club beat, Armin has brought in vocalist Trevor Guthrie who is ready for his second shot at stardom now after his previous success with band SoulDecision (we loved their song Faded!). This Is What It Feels Like ticks all of our Pop and our Dance boxes and it’s success around the world is highly deserved..!
Swedish DJ Avicii is very well known for his Dance smash hit Levels – the 23 year old has an amazing command of Dance and has lately partnered with Nicky Romero in I Could Be The One and with Aussie twins NERVO for You’re Gonna Love Again – two absolutely brilliant Dance tracks. With his new song Wake Me Up he’s taken a very different route and proved what an outstanding musician he is. Featuring the unique vocals of Aloe Blacc, Wake Me Up treads an amazing line between Folk, Pop and Dance and is a truly unique new track. The very first time we heard Wake Me Up we were totally blown away this could come from an artist like Avicii. To be released in September we think you’ll love Wake Me Up – we do..!
By far the most Dance of the three featured tracks, Reload is the latest offering from 30 year old Swedish DJ & Producer Sebastian Ingrosso. As one third of Swedish House Mafia, Sebastian has had a massive crossover hit with John Martin with Don’t You Worry Child and he’s brought John back to feature on Reload. John’s vocals are perfectly suited to this instant classic which featured all the trademarks of a Pop/Dance track such as the build up, power vocals and pounding instrumental. If you hear this in a club you’ll be on the dance floor immediately but Reload is also equally at home on the radio. Probably the most powerful of these three tracks, Reload is bound for chart domination very soon..!
