Introducing Kovak..!

Love a bit of old school disco, perhaps some ambient house, a bit of rock and a bit of early Blondie thrown in for fun? Then check out new alt-pop band on the block Kovak and let us introduce you…

Kovak, are fronted by the enigmatic blonde chanteuse Annelies Van de Velde, whilst the four-piece also comprises brothers Karl Bray (guitars), Darren Bray (drums) and Jonny Scafadi (bass). Hailing from Brighton they run the successful electro-dance night Club Kovak.

They are one of the first unsigned bands to be play-listed on BBC Radio 2 and been raved about by BBC Radio 2 presenter Zoe Ball. So what are they really like…

Infused with electro pop beats, 70’s old school disco vibe and uplifting ambient house melodies, their tracks also have a ABBA type feel, that have you feet tapping along with the beat and killer chorus that you just want to sing along too. Check out Living The Dream which has an ABBA infused undertone...

The band are currently putting the finishing touches to their debut album being producer by Dom Beken famed for his work with The Orb, KLF and Transit KingsTheir new single Radiate is infectious too, has a more ambient house feel with great grooves, delicate vocals and a soaring chorus.

Kovak are set to support Republica in London this month and play Meadowlands Festival in May as a prelude to a summer of festival performances. If you get a chance to check them out, please let us know what you think, as we are liking these new alt-electro-pop band. We think you will too..!
