A lot of great pop album's this year, however which one's really stood out? And the nominations were...
Maroon 5 – Overexposed
P!nk – The Truth About Love
Frank Ocean - channel ORANGE
No Doubt – Push & Shove
Madonna – MDNA
Taylor Swift – Red
Little Mix - DNA
Marina & The Diamonds – Electra Heart
One Direction – Take Me Home
Ke$ha - Warrior
David Guetta – Nothing But The Beat 2.0

And the winner is...
Emeli Sande - Our Version of Events

It’s been a great year for Scottish singer/songwriter Emeli Sande, as she wins her second award for her album Our Version Of Events. The album, written by the singer, along with collaborators Alicia Keys and Professor Green, is so diverse as its serves up dance numbers like Heaven, mid-tempo tracks like Daddy or the pop ballads Read All About It and Next To Me, and the rest of the album has beautiful soul-pop songs which are rich, powerful and emotional. No wonder she won the Critic's Choice Award at the BRIT Awards 2012. Congrats Emeli, a beautiful album that deserves all the success it has had to date.

Runner Up
Frank Ocean - Channel Orange

Channel Orange is a very exciting debut from American singer-songwriter Frank Ocean, delivering a blend of R&B and neo soul that challenges pop as we know it, delivering unconventional melodies and psychedelic grooves.  The 24-year-old from New Orleans worked on the LP with some music heavyweights including Pharrell, Om'mas Keith, John Mayer, and André 3000, bringing in touches of electro-funk, jazz and pop, to make an album that not only spans time and distance – from Ancient Egypt to the modern Las Vegas strip, it is a personal album of pure soul. A definite for any pop lovers collection.

Honorary Mention

Calvin Harris - 18 months
Already crowned the King Of Pop for 2012, we couldn't not mention the great album from Calvin Harris. We had to wait a long time for 18 Months, however the Brit DJ/Producer collection of tracks featuring vocals from Kelis, Example, Ellie Goulding, Ne-Yo and Rihanna, to name a few are pure pop delights creating an album of Harris' trademark dance floor anthems. Be interesting to see what Harris does next..!
