And the winner is... One Hit Wonder..!



Early this week we kicked off our One Hit Wonder competition, to name the best One Hit Wonder. Thanks to our friends at EMI Music Australia our five lucky winners below, will each receive a a copy of 101 One Hit Wonders 5 CD pack containing, you guessed it 101 One Hit Wonders including tracks like Chumbawamba - Tubthumping, Kris Kross - Jump Jump, Limahl - Never Ending Story and Heaven 17Temptation.

Tasmin Archer's most successful single was Sleeping Satellite which sold over 200,000 units and remained at number one in the UK for two weeks. This track reminded SCP of their teenage years back in the UK.


Deee-Lite - Groove Is In The Heart

New York goovers Deee-Lite had a few other dance hits however were and are known for the 1990 debut track Groove Is in the Heart that was an international smash hit and reached number one in Australia.



Dead or Alive - You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)

Dead or Alive, fronted by Pete Burns never managed to regain chart success for their debut single You Spin Me Round, however the song was the first UK number-one hit by the Stock Aitken Waterman who went on to have major success with the likes of, Bananarama, Jason Donavon and Kylie Minogue


Joe Dolce - Shaddap You Face

Its hard to believe but Shaddup You Face set a number of sales and longevity records reaching Number 1 in the Australia, UK and 11 other countries and covered in over 50 more countries selling over 6million units back in 1980.


The Knack - My Sharona

Though this American New Wave Rock band did have many follow up albums, now of them actually got these as much success as their debut single My Sharona which was an international number one hit in 1979.
