Pete's Pop Picks..!

Outasight - Tonight Is The Night

When you think of white rappers you immediately  think of Eminem however a new rapper from New York, Outasight, is hoping to change that! Otherwise known as Richard AndrewOutasight's music would best be described as a Pop/Hip-Hop/Soul fusion but in a style all his own. Tonight Is The Night is actually the second single he's released and it's a pretty cool song. He raps and he sings and the song is a little Cobra Starship and a little Robyn and he treats us to a little strip poker in the video! Check out Pete's Pop Pick of the week here now..!

Melanie Amaro - Respect

I debated about adding this song to my Pop Picks this week as it is a cover of one of the most recognisable songs in the world, Aretha Franklin's Respect. So what I did was give it time. I listened to this song all week and decided - yes, I love it! It's not a Xerox copy of the Aretha classic like many remakes - 2011 X-Factor winner Melanie Amaro puts her own dance beat to this song to give it a whole new lease on life. There's no, "take care, TCB" the verses and chorus have all been altered for a new modern take on this classic. Give it a go.. or two or three..!

All-American Rejects - Beekeepers Daughter
Formed in 1999 All-American Rejects have had some pretty well known hits under their belt with Move Along, Dirty Little Secret and Gives You Hell being their most well known. All those songs have the signature AAR in your face attitude to them but for their new single Beekeepers Daughter they've gone a slightly more pop/rock route telling the story of a man who cannot be monogamous in a much less in your face manner! With the typical fun AAR video style we're used to, welcome back All American Rejects..!
