Pete's Pop Pick's!

Lets see what Pete has in store for us this week. Over to you Pete...

Josh PykeNo One Wants A Lover

One of the most talented and hard working singer songwriters in Australia Josh Pyke has been pumping out some great music such as Middle of the Hill, Memories & Dust, Lines on Palms Sew my name.Rapidly gaining popularity and recognition across Australia, and featured in SnapCacklePop’s review of 360’s Throw it away, Josh Pyke’s new single No One Wants A Lover is Josh’s first single off his new album Only Sparrows. An infectious, up-tempo pop song, this track is deserving of Pete’s Pop Pick of the week!

 LissieWhen I’m Alone
Lissie is a 29 year old from Illinois, and has been on the music scene since 2007. Living in Ojai California now, as she does not want to live in the busy LA, Lissie’s album Catching a Tiger was released in 2010 – as was this single. However it’s only now that it’s starting to gain some airplay around the world. Surprisingly the Norwegians were the first to recognise this song – reaching #2 on their charts. With a ripper chorus, Lissie’s When I’m Alone is worth a listen.

Jennifer Lopez - Papi
Possibly the most "poppy" song of her new album, Papi is J Lo’s new single that’s ripping up the charts across the world. It’s been a while since J Lo’s been in form – remember Waiting For Tonight? – but this new album has some rippers, and Papi is one of them confirmed by J Lo as the third single from Love?,  you just know she will be getting ‘Hands up in the air’ in clubs across the world!

Gaga performs new single on Jimmy Kimmel

Lady Gaga last night confirmed and performed her next single You & I on Jimmy Kimmel's Live talk show. The interview with Jimmy showed us more of Gaga personality that we love when talking about her killer cooking skills, her five Emmy nods for her HBO special and her nomination for the Bowling Hall of Fame.

Talking of the forthcoming video, that was recently shot in Nebraska, Mother Monster describes the video as being about love and torture...

"The premise of the video is that I've walked all the way from New York City to Nebraska to get [my boyfriend] back. It's the idea that when you're away from somebody you love it's torture. It's a very powerful and awful and strange feeling when you're away from the person you love."

Can't wait! Check out the video below

Chris Brown track leaked on web!

I Love Her is rumored to be from Chris Brown’s his new album out soon called Fortune and this track sings about blaming himself for losing a girl he once loved. Hmmm wonder who that could be RiRi! He said if the track leaks online the it won't be on the next album saying “If the whole song doesn’t leak then it’s going on Fortune! I have so many songs that I’ve recorded in my opinion that are siiiccccckkkk! I just really hope people appreciate the diversity on Fortune!”

Well it leaked!

Check it out the full track below…Listen out for the Japanese flute!

New Video Alert - Will Young - Jealousy

Pop Uk heartthrob Will Young has dropped his new video for Jealousy! Set in a very strange trapeze/circus environment, Will's love for fellow male gymnast is clearly visible and the jealousy starts to take over when he pay more attentions to his female counterpart!  There are a two things bit wrong with this video, one being Will in lycra and second Will's attempt to demonstrate trapeze skills. But none the less, a good pop track from our future husband. Can't wait for the remixes!

New Video Alert - Kat DeLuna - Drop It Low

Get ready to shake ya booty to this track – well that’s clearly what you need to do according to Kat DeLuna in her new video for Drop It Low. The U.S singers RedOne produced track see DeLuna’s girl group compete in a dance off with the Uptown Boys! We at SCP HQ love a dance off!

The upbeat funky electro fused track is a great return for the Dominican heritage singer and boy does she know how to Drop [her ass} low!

Check out the video below while we at SCP HQ organize the dance off arena by clearing a few desks and reminding everyone in the office it is just for fun!

The SCP admin boy last time tried to impress us with his break dancing moves, only to end up in A&E in an incident involving a head spin and a pot plant! We shall say no more!

Over to you Kat...

More Boybands Naked - McFly!

If you have not heard of McFly before, they are a UK boyband that have swooned girls (& boys) world wide by their music talent and *ahem* other talent! Continuing our posts on naked boy bands (they seem quite popular!) we bring you UK Pop/Rock boyband McFly, an English pop rock band who first found fame in 2004.

The foursome, Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd are signed to their own label Super Records after splitting ways Island records back in 2007. The boys piggy backed on the success of fellow boy band Busted and have sold over 8 million records worldwide!

Becoming the youngest band to EVER have debut at No.1, the boys have just finished a reality TV show following their Above The Noise tour, we found the boys are not ahem shy of baring all to please their fans! Check out their pictures that featured in gay magazine Attitude. We are sure you will like them, for more than just their music talent. Remember to shut your jaw post seeing their photo’s!

Oh and here there last single, check out below...

Introduing - BERA

Let us introduce you to Bera. At first we thought it was Macaulay Culkin venturing out into a new direction, however this Paris native is working has Rob Fusari (Lady Gaga) and Rodney Jerkins (Michael Jackson) backing his debut album, so is one to watch. The album he describes as being divided musically and lyrically into two parts, “a more fun, club, up-tempo side; and the laid-back, loverboy, romantic side.” Which leaves us intrigued!

His first single Favorite Things reflected his universe (his words) and was an mid tempo offering, however juxtaposed with his club anthems of Hands On The Wall and Light It Up  which show the 16 years olds (yes he is 16!) diverse range in music.

Check out his new track Know How You Feel, Yeah below

New Single Alert - Katy B - Witches Brew

We at SCP HQ like Katy B, she has released an awesome debut album, which is not groundbreaking, has set her apart as someone to take note of! The UK singer/songwriter has now released her FIFTH single of her debut album On A Mission release via her Facebook page the official artwork from her the next single Witches Brew. Though not as great as previous single Lights On featuring the fabulous Lady Dynamite or Katy On A Mission, though pleasant enough for your pop ears!

Take a listen below and buy her album over on iTunes now

New Single Alert - Kelly Rowland - Lay It On Me

The UK X-Factor judge, Kelly Rowland is set to release her next single Lay It On Me taken from her forthcoming album Here I Am.  A move upbeat R&B Pop track than her last offering Motivation, though mimics the deep dark bass of the previous track. Featuring rapper Big Sean, the track is middle of the road, with a pleasant beat though not exactly ground breaking! Check it out for yourself below!

New Single Alert -Rihanna - Cheers

Normal pop protocol for an album is release 3 or maybe 4 of the best tracks to shift a few units, however RiRi is set to release her sixth single from her hugely successful album Loud.

The S&M singers announced her next single Cheers (Drink To That), which samples Avril Lavigne's I'm With You. We like to see pop celebs being proud of the album and Rihanna album is certainly one to be proud of! Check it out below!

Amy Winehouse Dies aged 27

Singer, songwriter Amy Winehouse has been found dead at her north London home at the age of 27. The singer, who sold more than five million records and rose to fame very quickly off the success of her Back to Black, was due to make a comeback this year with new material, however after a recent performance fears grew the star had returned to her old ways.
Police confirmed that Winehouse was pronounced dead at her home in Camden Square however have only describe her death as "unexplained".
Her PR Company have said  “Everyone who was involved with Amy is shocked and devastated. Our thoughts are with her family and friends,”
With her dad Mitch due to perform in The U.S on Monday night, the jazz blues singer immediately headed home to London upon recipt of the news to be with him family.
The singer's quick rise to stardom for her talent was soon overshadowed by fame and her demons. Her erractic stage performances, drunken fights, stints in hospital and rehab, soon become what the singer was known for rather than her awesome talents and great tracks. Ms Winehouse, we salute you for the music you brought us and hope that you are now resting in peace.

Pete's Pop Pick's!

Pete's back with his top three tracks for the week from pop rock, pop reggae to a good old ex boy band pop tune. Over to you Mr Pete...

All Time LowTime bomb
More Pop/Rock than Pop, All Time Low have been around the traps since 2003, competing with the likes of Good Charlotte and Simple Plan, but with less success to-date. From their fourth studio album Time bomb is a more pop focused effort and is the third single from their new album Dirty Work. With a great beat and catchy chorus, hopefully All Time Low will start overtaking their competitors! This track is  deserving of Pete's Pop Pick of the week!

Mohambi Feat. Nicole Scherzinger - Coconut tree
Already achieving success across Europe, Coconut tree has a decidedly African vibe - probably because Mohambi is half Swedish and half from the African republic of Congo. Blending pop and reggae, this pop gem really benefits from Nicole Scherzinger's smooth vocals and the great video benefits from her rockin' form!

Jordan Knight Lets go higher
Does the name sound familiar? What about if I used the acronym NKOTB? Yes - this is Jordan Knight from New Kids On The Block! Jordan has had a few cracks solo in the past - his best effort to-date being Give it to you which achieved #5 on the UK charts. This is a pretty sound pop song though, being Jordan's first single from his third solo album, produced by GaGa's Colby O'Donis. If you forget it is from Jordan, it's not a bad listen!

Talking of silliness.

New Single Alert - The Saturdays - All Fired Up

The Saturdays have posted on their Facebook the follow up single to Notorious. The sexy five ladies released the lyric video to All Fired Up which is the same name of their forthcoming tour.

The single, produced and written by Xenomania and Space Cowboy, is due for release on September 4, 2011 sings about making parties super naughty and dancing on the bar. Continuing saying "We're all animals, so get your claws out." Meow!
Check out the awesome track below. We can't wait for the album ladies!

New Single Snippet - Sugababes - Freedom

Hot on the heals of Keisha performing to a pack room of music execs, the "new version" of the Sugababes, have released an extended clip of their forthcoming track Freedom. Though we will wait for the full song to be released to pass judgement, its not exactly the edgy poptastic track that we have normally been delivered by the babes.
Not one to gossip, as if we would, however perhaps since they have lost all original members the formula no longer works?

Comeback Alert - Steps

Steps, the cheesy pop group of the 90's are set to reveal all, in a four part reality television show that is set to have us glued to the screen!

The five piece band, whose hits include Tragedy, One For Sorrow and Last Thing On My Mind, are set to lift the lid on what went on behind the cheesy smiles and camp dance routines. Sky's Mark Sammon says will document the in-fighting, jealousy and power struggles behind the sugar-coated Steps we all remember!

Creative Director Michael Kelpie has said: 'This documentary series reveals the truths behind the polished pop façade that led to the break-up of one of the most successful pop acts in the UK’ continuing 'Steps will face their demons as they try to rebuild both personal and working relationships. It will undoubtedly be explosive viewing.'

Its all in an "attempt" to relaunch Steps 10 years later as they release their Ultimate Collection of greatest hits!

We know we will be addicted! Can't wait!

Here's one of the tracks that made them big!

Friday Song!

Quite simple, its FRIDAY!
Its been a VERY long week!
We need a beer and/or glass of wine and we need to get in the mood for the weekend!
Over to you Mr David Guetta & Estelle!
 Ready to party now!

Comeback Alert - Garbage

Shirley’s back!

The band Garbage has confirmed on their Facebook page they are back in the studio and set to release new material soon. Hugely popular in the 90’s, with their edgy catchy tracks, the band has not released any new material since the hit Bleed Like Me back in 2005, however, tweeting they are working on 24 new tracks on the yet untitled album.

According to Contact Music, Shirley Manson told a group of students in Scotland: “I’m working on a record right now with the band. We’ve recorded quite a lot but it’s difficult to quantify.”

“It’s the first one in a long time. I took about five years off. I'd like to do some touring next year. We're just winging it right now.”

Well, we’ll be waiting Shirley & Co! Until then, here is a clip from the pop vault…

New Jessie J tracked leaked!

A new track by Jessie J has been leaked on the internet which has not impressed the British singer. The single, Without You was leaked by unknown sources and is reported to be a track from the Nobody Perfect’s forthcoming next album. The song sings about a missing former lover continues to demonstrate how talented the singer is!

The Price Tag singer has been left fuming after finding out the rack was out saying on Twitter

"It's a real shame when people feel they have the right to leak an artist (sic) songs. It's art and personal... I will never know (who did it). Could be anyone from a hacker to someone who has been sent the song once upon a time... Fluff it!! Imma (sic) just keep writing!! Keep believing and keep working my a** off!!"

Check out the track below…

Girls Aloud Watch!

So its been a few weeks since we have checked in with The Aloud, so lets see what those fab five have been up to! To be honest, its been quiet for the girls, apart from Nicole, who is on her mission to take the charts by storm with her new pop sound! However…

Irish lass Nadine Coyle is the second of the Girls Aloud girls to confirm that pop group the will reunite for concerts in 2012 to celebrate their 10th anniversary. She said in a recent interview with contactmusic.com

"We always discuss doing a 10-year reunion thing. So that's going to be next year. We're definitely going to do something. But it's a whole huge production. Girls Aloud is not just us five, there's, like, us five plus a ridiculous team of 50 who travel with us, it's amazing,"

Well, we knew that, but good to have confirmation again. Even team ging aka Nicola Roberts has come out saying that the girls never split up in the first place, they just took a break. If you didn’t get chance to check out her B-side track Disco, Blisters & A Comedown see below
Meanwhile Kimberley Walsh attended the premier of Ghost. The TV presenter  had just returned from a holiday in LA with band mate Cheryl Cole. Dressed down for the premier in London’s Piccadilly Theatre, the GA singer was all smiles without her man Justin Scott.
Talking of our Cheryl, she’s faced even more media attention as it has come to light that her “Husband” has once again been linked to another lady following reports he cheated on her with a flight attendant. After recently giving their relationship another go, this news can only be shaken by the news.  No wonder she is hiding in LA!

Finally, our blonde bombshell Sarah Harding is partying it up in Ibiza with her beau DJ Tom Crane. According to the Daily Mail she was seen leaving Space nightclub at 6am! OMG! Call the pentagon! That is soooooo late! NOT!
So there you go! Not much going on to be honest, apart from NR! Good time for the girls to regroup and come back with a corker album. Lets look at where it all began!

GA Stalker over and out!
