SnapCacklePop Music Awards - SCPop King of the Year

In the lead up to announcing this years SnapCacklePop Music Awards 2011 we are now getting to some of the BIG categories, first up - SCPop King of the Year. And the nominations are...

David Guetta
With the release of his brilliant album Nothing But The Beat this year David Guetta has taken the over the world with his brilliant hits Little Bad Girl, Without You feat Usher and Titanium feat Australian pop girl Sia. Its been a good year however will he win SCPop King of the Year?

Calvin Harris
Though not releasing an album this year Calvin Harris has still had major chart presence with producing and featuring in Rihanna's We Found Love and his own personal singles Feels So Close and the brilliant Bounce featuring Kelis. Speaking of his new forthcoming album Harris says "I'm going for pretty epic-sounding dance records. I guess the whole sound has just moved on in terms of production as I've got a new studio and some new gear to make the sounds I wasn't able to make before." That said has he done enough to be crowned pop king?

Jason Derulo
Following from his debut self titled album Jason Derülo exploded back in the charts with Don't Wanna Go Home, which samples Robyn S’ track Show Me Love taken from his sophomore album Future History. Hotly followed by It Girl and recent track Fight for You which both did great internationally. Due to tour the UK in 2012 things are on the up for the singer however is this the year for Mr Derülo to wear this pop crown?

Bruno Mars
Though releasing The Other Side first, it wasn’t until Bruno Mars released Just the Way You Are as the album's official lead single in July that Mr Mars took over the international charts. Said single topped the Billboard Hot 100 for four consecutive weeks, having sold over 4.5 million copies and was certified four times platinum and become a song for lovers around the world!
The second single Grenade reached No. 1 in the Billboard charts and The Lazy Song and Marry You were both top 10 hits! Though Bruno is still new on the pop charts, is he too junior to wear the pop crown and more a Prince than a King?

Ed Sheeran
Already nominated for SnapCacklePop Music Awards - OMG! What an awesome debut Album Award Nominations Ed Sheeran certainly has made an impact on the pop world this year. Releasing debut track The A-Team and two follow up top ten hits You Need Me, I Don't Need You and Lego House could this be Mr Sheeran's year?
