Reece Mastin takes on mentor Guy Sebastian for No.1 spot!

Not since Luke Skywalker took on Obi-Wan Kenobi has there been such a face off! Following on from last night’s grand final of The X Factor last night, Reece Mastin’s debut single, Good Night has stormed in to the #1 position on iTunes, knocking off his mentor, Guy Sebastian’s  new single, Don’t Worry Be Happy which had shot to #1 after his performance on the show.

Who will come out on top? Only time will tell!

On their new found rivalry, Guy Sebastian said, “I couldn’t be more thrilled to see Reece sitting at the top. To be up there with him is even more special. Just when he thought he got rid of me!!”

On being crowned the winner, Reece said, “This has been the most amazing experience. I never thought I’d get past the audition process, let alone here tonight. Guy is the best and I’m so happy to have had the chance to work with him and I just can’t believe it!”

Reece’s mentor, Guy Sebastian, was ecstatic to see one of his contestants take out the series, saying, “Reece is a superstar. He has absolutely got what it takes to be an international star. He’s just amazing!”

On Friday 9 December 2011, the debut album, Reece Mastin will be released and will feature the X Factor journey that the 16 yr old from Greenwith, South Australia has taken through the final 12 featuring re-recorded studio tracks of some of the incredible performances on the show including She Will Be Loved, Joker And The Thief, Paradise City and I Kissed A Girl, as well as recordings of his standout performance Breakeven and his winning single, Good Night.
