Pete's Pop Pick's

ParachuteWhat I Know

Back in August we at SCP introduced Parachute, one of the most talented singer songwriter bands to come out of the states in recent years. Kiss Me Slowly was their single release at the time, a song which was co-written with current country ‘it’ band Lady Antebellum. Now Parachute are back with their most powerful single, and lead from their new album The Way It Was. Featuring some phenomenal vocals What I Know stirs your soul – especially when they’re pleading “and i’m oooooooonnn my knees!”.  Currently on tour in the States with Kate Voegele, Parachute deserves a lot more recognition for the amazing musicians they are. What I Know is a brilliant single that you can listen to over & over again and is deserving of Pete’s Pop Pick of the week!

Honor Society – Living A Lie

Hmm might we developing a theme in this week’s Pete’s Pop Picks? Maybe the next band reviewed will be just 3 hot guys? Well with a ripper pop single like Living A LieHonor Society definitely deserve to be one of my Pop Picks this week. In the style of the Jonas Brothers, who they toured with in 2009, this pop rock band from New York formed in 2006 and have just released their third album A Tale Of Risky Business Part II. Gaining popularity after being MTV Buzzworthy in August, their new single has gained them additional exposure around the world – no video yet but have a listed to Living A Lie below!

Mario Lopez – I Can’t Stand It

Before you get all excited that hunky Mario Lopez from Saved By The Bell & Dancing With The Stars has branched out and become a DJ, wait! This Mario Lopez is a 42 year old DJ from Hanover Germany otherwise known as Thomas Schatz who started DJ’ing in the Hannover circuit, mostly to finance his own sound equipment and to buy records. He’s now following in David Guetta’s lead and created this fantastic pop/dance single I Can’t Stand It.  Upbeat, catchy and featuring vocals from… well… we don’t know, but she’s good!  Have a listen below.
