New Single Alert - Kelly Clarkson - Mr Know It All (Full Track)

After Kelly Clarkson's live webchat earlier, she has debuted her first single from her next album Stronger. The lead single  Mr. Know It All  is written by Ester Dean, Brian Kennedy and Brett James and described by some as a fusion of Bruno Mars and P!ink. We think it shows off Kel's vocal ability brilliantly and it must be a good track, as three members of the SCP crew have been caught singing it in the kitchen already today!

The single will be released for purchase as a Digital Download on September 5, 2011

New Single Alert - Britney Spears - Criminal

We love Britters, from her awesome dance moves, great pop tracks and her gorgeous smile,  to her Louisiana accent and no knickers moments. Femme Fatale is one of our favourite albums this year however not nearly her best to date as can not get over the fabulousness that is/was Blackout.
So Britney has kept us guessing as to what the next single will be, as there are so many SCP favourites! Would be Big Fat Bass? Inside Out? or the awesome trance pop track Trip To Your Heart? No! Well we can reveal its none of the above! Britney announced on her next single will be Criminal.

Hmm. SCP didn't see that one coming at all!

Though we think maybe not the strongest track on the album, we reckon it will do well in the charts. Check out the announcement below with Britney's view on the video and the full track after the jump.

Pop - LIVE! - Amy Winehouse (A Tribute)

Its been a few weeks since the sad passing of pop star Amy Winehouse. At SCP we wanted to remember the extremely talented singer for her work, not her troubles over the past few years. So we bring you the best live performances from the talented soul singer/songwriter!
The singer burst onto the music scene with her debut album Frank back in 2003 which alluded to the nature and tone of the album itself. The album was produced by Salaam Remi and was majorly influenced by jazz and apart from two covers, every track written by Amy herself. The debut single Stonger Than Me, won her the Ivor Novello (Songwriting) Award for Best Contemporary Song. Then releasing a further three song from the album, which got Amy shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize and proceeded to tour the festival circuit including Glastonbury, V Festival and Montreal International Jazz Festival.

POP FACT: Her famous beehive was as high as 6 inches
However it wasn’t until the release of Back To Black her sophomore album, did Winehouse achieve international success. Amy continued to work with Remi on her next record, however this time collaborating with Mark Ronson, which spawned the self autobiographical track Rehab, that talks about Winehouse's refusal to enter a rehabilitation clinic. It peaked at number 7 in UK charts and number 9 on the Billboard charts. From there a star was born!

POP FACT: Winehouse was booted out of Westminster, London's Sylvia Young Theatre School for getting her nose pierced and "general slackeritude”
Amy’s second album Back To Black was the best selling album in the UK in 2007, selling over 1.85million copies within a year. The album continued to produce a number of singles including title track Back To Black which is perhaps, along with Rehab, is her most recognisable track.
POP FACT: Winehouse won 3 Grammy Awards for  best new album of the year, Song of the year and Record of the year.
A re-release of her album saw a collaboration with Mark Ronson and produced a cover of The Zutons, Valarie with the single peaking at Number 2 on the UK Singles Chart, spending 19 consecutive weeks inside the Top 20.
Though only releasing two albums, the singer received 23 awards from 60 nominations throughout her short years in the charts. Her talent will be remembered and her work will live on. We leave you with a live performance of Valerie, which is a SCP fav. R.I.P Amy!

Introducing - Jessie & The Toy Boys

We featured Jessie and the Toy Boys in the other day featuring on Doctor Rosen Rosen new EP Girls. The singer/songwriter is currently touring as opening act alongside Nicki Minaj and Nervo on the Britney Spears Femme Fatale tour; we reckon this Toy Boy lover is pop magic! Working with SCP fav pop producers Xenomania on her debut album in-between London and LA,  the singer has had multiple singles released to date that scream poptastic, with an electro flair! Our Popjustice friend Peter Robinson saying her new songs are "top notch" and exclaims, "Jessie is a big talent with enough proper actual popstarry xfactular 'star quality' to be a brilliant ambassador for her own tunes".

We certainly agree Mr Robinson (godfather of pop gossip!)

Jessie and the Toys Boys EP – Show Me Your Tan Lines is available on iTunes now. Check out two of the tracks Push It and We Own The Night Below.

Welcome Jessie, we heart you already!
